It is important to educate both owners and dogs about appropriate play and what it looks like! My goal is to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for your puppy to learn appropriate dog-to-dog interaction skills and to give you the tools to navigate play throughout your dog's life. We will learn how to read body language to understand when puppies are and are not enjoying the play interaction and what to do in these situations. During play we will discuss play styles, breed differences, and possible red flags to watch out for. The socials will be structured, safe, and fun!
Early and proper socialization is essential for all puppies. Puppy socials play a pivotal role in the holistic development of our furry companions, providing a structured and supervised environment for young dogs to interact with their peers. These gatherings are crucial in shaping a puppy's social skills, helping them learn how to communicate, interpret body language, and establish appropriate play behaviors. Beyond the playful frolicking, these sessions expose puppies to a variety of personalities, sizes, and breeds, fostering a positive attitude towards diversity. The controlled setting allows for early positive experiences, reducing the likelihood of fear or aggression issues later in life. Moreover, puppy socials contribute to the overall well-being of our canine friends, promoting mental stimulation, confidence, and emotional resilience. In essence, these social interactions are not just about having fun; they are a cornerstone in laying the foundation for well-adjusted, socially adept, and happy adult dogs.
Please bring your own treats. I recommend not feeding your dog breakfast prior to puppy social or bring your dog's breakfast with you and use it during the social as rewards for redirection and attention. It is helpful to have treats on hand to practice behaviors and redirect your puppies/adolescent dogs when needed.

*puppies should have age appropriate vaccinations, at least 1 round of Distemper, and have a clean bill of health from your local vet.
