Behavior and Enrichment

The key to a happy and healthy dog is regular enrichment and allowing them to engage in their innate behaviors, such as playing, chasing, smelling, chewing and scavenging. By allowing your dog to engage in these behaviors, you allow them to be physically, emotionally and mentally satisfied. Dogs who don’t receive stimulation tend to find ways to enrich themselves, resulting in unwanted behaviors. We often fail to provide our dogs with outlets for instinctual behaviors such as digging, tearing, foraging, and shredding. Rather than telling your dog not to be a dog, give him appropriate ways to engage in these behaviors. Your dog will be grateful, and your shoes won't be at risk of destruction! Games and tricks are also great ways of bonding with your dog. We will show you ideas and activities to provide your dog with more mental stimulation at home and creative ways to make challenging puzzles for your dog.
